Five reasons to promote self-healing of your body

Love to feel healthier and more empowered? Here are five reasons to promote self-healing of your body.

You may not be aware of it, but your body has an amazing ability to heal itself. In fact, it’s one of the most important bodily functions.

Your body contains around 30-40 trillion cells, all of which are working tirelessly to keep your body healthy and repair any damage. Your body will naturally try to defend you from bacteria, viruses, and toxins that may be harmful. It even has the ability to recover from falls, injuries, broken bones, etc.

When we become ill, stressed or abuse our body, large quantities of these cells can be damaged or destroyed, affecting our ability to protect and heal. But with the right changes to your life, your body has the ability to heal or replace the dead cells to ensure that all other bodily functions are running at optimal levels.

What is self-healing?

You’ve already witnessed your body’s ability to heal from cuts, bruises, and other types of injuries. Medicines and supplements may help, but they’re only meant to support the natural healing process.

And while it’s true that antibiotics can weaken a bacterium, it’s important to remember that it is your immune system that can actually eliminate it from your body.

Self-healing is not only limited to your physical pain and injuries. It also refers to your body’s ability to recover mental and emotional pain as well.

Your body can heal itself in so many ways. And the good news is that you can augment the natural self-healing mechanism of your body by learning how to tune into the process.

Tuning into your body’s self-healing mechanism is not complicated – your body’s energy is a simple process. When you tune into your body’s energies, you can truly change your life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Five reasons to adopt self-healing

The most important thing to remember is that your body is incredibly self-sustaining – it WANTS to be healthy and will work to heal itself when it needs help.

But sometimes it might need more than just a little push to get it going. This may require you to be very careful with what you do and how you take care of yourself. Here are five good reasons why you should let your body heal on its own.

1) It helps you control your thoughts and emotions

Self-healing also works to give us more control over our thoughts and emotions. Controlling our thoughts and emotions is an important part of any healing process – our actions, thoughts, and feelings are all connected.

Our actions are determined by our thoughts. Our emotions, if left pent up, can affect our mental and physical health. All of these things will eventually have a negative effect on our immune system, which is responsible for keeping our body balanced and healthy.

Bottling up negative emotions can only lead to negative effects and ultimately cause more stress and anxiety. So an important, fundamental part of the self-healing process is learning how to control your thoughts and emotions.

If you want to enjoy optimum health then you need to learn how to release all your negative thoughts and emotions, whether they’re caused by an illness, trauma, work, pressure, or a stressful lifestyle.

When we live in a state of stress, we’re continually firing the fight or flight response, causing chaos in our body and effectively shutting down our immune system.

There’s no good reason to hold onto stress, worry and resentment – the only person they hurt is you. And while we appreciate it’s not as simple as clicking your fingers and changing the way your mind works, it’s important to let go of habits that aren’t serving you (and thoughts and feelings are as habitual as something like biting your nails) and find ways to alter the way you think and feel.

Replace negative thoughts and feelings with positive feelings of empowerment, practice gratitude and focus on things in your life you want more of, and you’ll start feeling better – emotionally and physically.

2) It’s not complicated

Learning how to heal your body naturally or how to begin self-healing is not difficult. In fact, self-healing is not some kind of mystical process that’s hard to understand.

The self-healing process entails starting to make simple adjustments to your lifestyle. These include adopting a healthy diet, exercising regularly, practicing yoga or meditation, practicing breathing techniques, sharpening your mind and senses, sleeping more regularly, and reducing stress and anxiety.

Many of these techniques have been either developed or adapted to help you cope with and address the problems that are affecting your life, and consequently causing problems to your mind and body.

3) It cleanses your body

Forget buying expensive detox shakes and plans, your body is quite able to cleanse itself, given the chance. This can be done by drinking more water, eating healthy food, reducing stress and getting plenty of rest.

As soon as your body has been cleansed, the self-healing process starts to take place. As the impurities are removed, your body is then able to heal itself. This allows your body to function at full capacity so that you are healthier and stronger.

4) It requires minimal effort and saves on medical expenses

It’s important to note that healing yourself using natural, self-healing methods doesn’t come with an expensive price tag, and doesn’t require a considerable effort on your part.

Self-healing actually reduces your dependence on surgeries or prescription medications when treating your body. Simply adopting better life habits and a resilient, healthy mindset can save you money on medical expenses, prescriptions and time spent visiting the doctor.

5) It helps you to connect with others

People have a need to connect with those they care about, which is why self-healing has become so popular, as part of the self-healing process is to connect more with the people around you.

Depression and anxiety caused by feeling lonely affect our body’s ability to heal. By spending time with other people, you can feel more useful, noticed, loved and needed, making you feel that your life has purpose.

Can you heal yourself?

Whatever it is that you want to recover or heal yourself from, self-healing is a good option for anyone. And not just if you are sick – we all need to adopt the habits that encourage self-healing.

That’s not to say that doctors and pharmaceutical medicines don’t have their place, nor that you should not consult or take them. But adding self-healing into the mix allows for a faster and more successful healing process.

There are many ways to start the self-healing process. You just have to make sure that your body, mind, and spirit are all engaged. You’re free to find your style of practice just as long as it makes you feel healthy and happy. Over time, you should see a big change.
