Six ways you can stay connected to your lover if you’re separated by self-isolation

If you’ve found yourself self-quarantined away from your partner, you’re probably missing the intimacy you once had.

But just because you’re physically apart doesn’t mean that you have to be emotionally separated. And now could even be an opportunity to mix things up and try something new.

So, if you want to stay connected to your lover while practicing self-isolation, here are six strategies to consider.

1) Do some research on them

If your lover is stuck quarantining at a childhood home in order to better look after their parents. And you may want to send them something to cheer them up, but not have their address.

Rather than just ask them for their address, you can use a free people search tool like Go Look Up to find their address and surprise them with something in the post, or a gift bought online.

With just a first and last name, you can find contact info such as addresses and phone numbers. They’ll be touched that you went to such great lengths in order to give them a special surprise while they’re stuck away from you.

2) Send a care package

Once you have your lover’s address, you can send them a care package to show them you’re thinking about them, and make them feel loved and special.

You can include their favorite snack foods that always help them destress after a long day, or a trinket of yours that has significance to them.

Giving them something tangible in this time of uncertainty is a great idea. Not only will it offer them comfort, but it will also let them know that you want them to be happy and miss them.

3) Create a sexy video

If you and your lover have been missing your physical connection, you can make the most of your distance and create a sexy video.

If you’re feeling confident, you could buy some sexy lingerie and put on some naughty music, then perform a special striptease or dance just for them. Brands like Spicy Lingerie have a wide variety of outfits to choose from.

Just a warning though… when your partner sees what you’ve created, they may be begging you to break quarantine!

4) Give them a wake-up call

To show your partner how thoughtful you are, consider giving them a phone call each morning to wake them up.

Rather than the harsh noise of an alarm clock, getting to talk to you will ensure that they wake up on the right side of the bed.

If you generally share the same bed each night, it’s likely that they’re missing your physical presence even more than normal right now. Being able to remind them that you still love them each morning with a phone call can help make the time pass much more easily.

5) Netflix and chill, remotely

Just because you aren’t in the same location doesn’t mean you can’t have a date night! Consider ordering pizza from the same place and watch a movie together using Netflix Party.

While you watch the same content online, you’ll be able to chat with each other about different moments. Whether it’s a shocking reveal in a thriller you haven’t yet seen or an “LOL” during a Will Ferrell comedy, you’ll feel closer thanks to this new way to watch Netflix together.

6) Catch up on their favorite things

If your partner has always been telling you to check out their favorite book or TV show and you’ve yet to check it out, now could be the perfect time to do so.

You’ll probably be looking for new ways to pass the time while you work from home and can’t go out, and reading a book or watching something new is a great way to break up your week.

Best of all, once you’ve read up or watched their favorite thing, you can bring it up in a video call and have a conversation about it together.
