Six costume ideas for an EDC festival

Going to an EDC festival can be a lot of fun. You dance all day, listen to some of your favorite artists, and spend time with friends.

The one thing that might ruin your experience is wearing the wrong outfit. So here is a list of costume ideas for an EDC festival, to ensure that you don’t look like an outcast.

1) Wear a face mask

Face masks are a great way to keep the music and your festival experience in focus. They’re also stylish, which is a bonus. To make your own face mask, use fabric or paper scraps from around the house and some tape.

If you don’t have any leftover fabric lying around, try making do with whatever paper products you find—newspaper works well, as does cardboard or construction paper—and then cover it all with duct tape for durability and style.

If you’re feeling fancy, consider adding feathers or other decorative elements that coordinate with what else you’re wearing. If not, stick with something simple like black-and-white stripes or polka dots.

2) Wear fairy wings

Fairy wings are perfect if you’re looking for simple and fun EDC costumes. They’re easy to find in any costume shop and can be used as part of a group costume. If you want your outfit to stand out from the crowd, add some glitter or other embellishments like glitter glue or sequins.

3) Get a flower crown

Flower crowns are the perfect accessory for an EDC show. These flowers will help you be more visible and can also add a splash of color to your outfit.

To make one yourself, start with a base of tightly packed flowers; this will help keep them in place as you wear them. Next, add smaller flowers around the edges to give it more dimension.

Finally, remember that no matter what you choose to wear or how crazy your flower crown looks, have fun.

4) Cover yourself in glitter

Glitter is a great way to stand out among the crowd or at least make yourself memorable for better or worse. You can buy glitter in various colors, but gold and silver seem the most popular with EDC festivals. You can also use it on your face or body, but be careful not to get it on any nice clothes you might have brought along.

Glitter can be messy and hard to get off, so if you go with this look, you need to consider how much time and effort you’re willing to put into ensuring it stays in place.

You can start with a thin layer of glitter on top of your makeup and add another layer if you want more. You can also use glitter as eyeliner or just on the waterline to make it look like you have stars in your eyes.

5) Go as a unicorn or a mermaid

There are plenty of ways to go as a unicorn or mermaid. You can literally be a unicorn, or you can be creative and come up with your own version. Let your imagination run wild.

If you don’t have the time or space for that kind of creativity, you can easily buy EDC costumes from any department store and then find ways to make them unique.

Examples:

  • A white dress with glittery shoes and a rainbow-colored wig
  • An inflatable rubber ducky with wings attached on either side

6) Dress like Daft Punk

Daft Punk is a legendary EDC duo known for their iconic look, so if you’re going to dress like them, you have to get the details right. Start with an actual gold helmet—you can find one at any Halloween store or costume shop—but don’t forget about your suit.

You’ll need to wear black and white and gold chains around your neck and wrist. And when it comes to footwear? You guessed it: gold shoes.

What will you wear to an EDC festival?

If you’re heading to an EDC festival, these costumes will get you the attention and admiration of all your friends. Plus, they’re easy enough that even the most novice cosplayers can take them on with minimal fuss.

So grab some glue guns, glitter, and sequins, go wild with the ideas mentioned above—and don’t forget to share photos of your finished products.
