Quick gift ideas for your family this year

What better way to spend your money than on gifts for those you love. At least, this seems to be the philosophy of Americans.

According to a poll conducted by Gallup, in 2019 consumers in the US were planning to spend an average of $942 on Christmas gifts for their family and friends – up from $885 in 2018.

The same poll also learned that a significant 37% of Americans said they would spend over $1,000 or more on gifts for their loved ones – again up from 33% the year before. Some said they intended to visit bricks-and-mortar stores to pick their gifts personally, while others were planning to buy their gifts online to save time and hassle.

So, while Christmas may be a while off this year. what gifts are you planning to buy those close to you this year – for birthdays, anniversaries and Mother and Fathers’ Days? And what if someone is celebrating a special wedding anniversary? How about wooden anniversary gifts, 5th anniversary present.

If buying online, you’d be wise to research the best ways to shop safely online. And if you’re stuck for ideas, here are some quick gift suggestions that you can include in your shopping list for your family this year.

Buying a gift for your parents

Buying gifts for your parents can be a challenging task. What do you get the people who have everything (you!)?

There are two key choices when buying present for your parents. Do you go the sentimental, treasure-it-forever route such as a framed family photo, or personally made gift?

Or you do you plump for practical, such as a kitchen device for avid chefs, or a high end espresso machine for a coffee lover? Your parents may even appreciate a wine accessory set, or a plush robe to relax in (even better if while drinking wine…).

Buying a gift for your father

And what about Father’s Day? Men are notoriously difficult to buy for, so what can you choose for your father on this special day? Enter the ‘meat bouquet’! What could be more perfect for a meat loving dad than a gift from Manly Man Co. original Jerky Gifts?

From a meat card (yes, really!) to gift boxes and even beef jerky flower bouquets (in a handy beer mug) you’re bound to find something to put a smile on your father’s face. If your dad enjoys spending time on the water, you can also consider boat gifts from The Custom Captain, where you can print your design on a shirt that complements his nautical adventures.

Buying a gift for a Christian relative

Christian t-shirts are a great gift idea for a relative who values their faith. They offer a stylish and subtle way to express their beliefs and can be worn as a casual or dressy option.

When selecting Christian t-shirts for women, consider her personal style and the message she wants to convey. There are a wide variety of t-shirts available with different designs, fonts, and colors to choose from.

You can look for t-shirts with uplifting and inspiring messages, or t-shirts featuring a Bible verse or Christian symbol. Christian t-shirts can be dressed up or down, making them a versatile and quick gift idea for your mother. They are also a great way to show her that you care about her faith and values.

Buying a gift for your sister

Your sister is often your partner in crime and secret-keeper, so she deserves a gift she will enjoy. Like perhaps a simple yet classic piece of jewelry, such as a necklace or bracelet. Or splurge on a high end makeup palette she can use every day.

If you’re stuck for money and want to give her something meaningful, why not make her a gift for the annual National Sisters Day? You may have craft, art or baking talents she’d enjoy.

Or you can opt to give her something that she’ll really appreciate, like the latest book from her favorite author, a vanity make-up mirror, or a sturdy travel pack if she travels often.

Buying a gift for your brother

Shopping for men can be tough – they often don’t ask for much, and if they need something they buy it for themselves before you’ve had time to gift it to them!

But buying a gift for your brother can be an exception. If your brother loves the outdoors, you can get him something that can protect him when he is out in the wild. This could be anything from a waterproof jacket, to a tactical knife, or a comfy camping tent.

You may also give him the latest video game for his preferred gaming console. Or, if your brother is more musically-inclined, you can choose to give him a high-quality noise-canceling headphone.

Buying gifts for your family doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. But whatever the price tag, seeing the smiles on their faces when they open your gifts is always a priceless moment.

You may follow these gift suggestions or buy something that your loved ones will enjoy based on their personality and interests. And hopefully it will be something they will treasure for a long time.
