We interview Scott Ayres, Content Scientist at Agorapulse, sponsors of our Shortcut Summit.

Agorapulse make social media easier to manage than ever before, by enabling you to schedule your content, get reports, and engage followers with one simple tool. They’re giving away one month free to Talented Ladies Club readers here.

What’s your background?

I’ve worked for three different social media app companies over the last 10 years, heading up support, training, blogging, customer success and more.

With over 3000 blog posts, 100s of live videos, 100s of podcasts, spoke on stages all around the US in person and even more virtually across the globe. Scott is also the co-author of Facebook All-In-One for Dummies.

How long have you worked at Agorapulse?

Four years.

Why do you like working at Agorapulse?

I get to expense things like wigs, labcoats and skeletons…

What makes Agorapulse different?

Our founders truly care more about the people more than the money.

What’s the biggest slip up you’ve ever seen a company make on social media?

Not addressing negative comments properly.

And the cleverest social media campaign?

Oreos during the Superbowl in 2013 when the lights went out.

What’s your top social media tip?

BE REAL! People can see through the fakeness (yes I made up that word). Just be authentic and people will flock to you. Perfection is a myth.

What does your average working day look like?

Define average? Lately it involves turning on a bunch of lights, putting on a wig and labcoat and running live videos! Along with setting up ads, experiments, writing blog posts and recording podcasts.
