It’s time to plan summer vacations with your girl squad
Most of us have ‘girl squads’ – a group of female friends who we can count on to be there with us for good times and through the tough times too.
And as the temperatures rise for summer, who best to make the most of them than your friends? That could just mean drinks on the beach, or dinner in your favourite restaurant. Of you could go one fun step further and plan a trip together!
To help give you some inspiration, here are some ideas of fun vacations you can plan this summer with your girl squad.
Visit a luxury spa
There’s no better way to spend a weekend than at a luxury spa. Get pampered, enjoy great drinks and relax. From massages to facials, you’ll come back looking and feeling refreshed. Spend a weekend in fluffy bathrobes and drinking mimosas dishing with your best gals. For added luxury, find a spa that has an amazing brunch package. Nothing beats ending the long weekend with a perfect brunch.
Many spas have beautiful pools and relaxing hot tubs to enjoy as well. Sunning yourself and relaxing muscles in the tub will add to your enjoyment. In addition, spas often offer free classes like yoga or meditation. Try them out to learn relaxation techniques you can take home with you. You’re sure to come home feeling refreshed, relaxed and bonded with your besties.
Book at a beach resort
Beach reports offer a lot of the same benefits of a spa getaway, but on the beach. Depending on where you are headed, you can often find an all inclusive resort with a low price tag. Enjoy pools, hot tubs and tropical cocktails, all with the added relaxation of waves crashing nearby.
Try out some oceanside activities while at the beach, like ocean paddle boarding or kayaking. Go for a long walk and search for seashells. Or find your inner child by building a sandcastle together. There’s just so much fun to be had at the beach!
Go all in with a cruise
If you’re looking for a vacay that combines the fun of the ocean with the luxury of a spa, it’s time for a cruise. Whether it’s a Bermuda cruise or one to a Carribean island, cruising offers all the comforts of a luxury spa and an all inclusive resort. Plus, you’re surrounded by the blue waters of the ocean your entire vacation.
Enjoy all the amenities your ship has to offer, from gourmet meals and themed cocktails, to multiple pools and evening entertainment. Cruising is a great option for the girl gang that doesn’t like to make plans. With a cruise, you know where you’re going, how you’re getting there and where you’re staying. All you have to do is enjoy the ride!
Hit the open road
If your goal is to enjoy the journey like on a cruise, another option is a road trip. It can be so much fun to drive down the highway with all your best girls, all loaded up on road snacks. Plan the type of trip where you get to stop for roadside attractions like the best piece of pie or the world’s biggest ball of yarn. Try using actual maps to navigate instead of your cell phone GPS for added fun!
Also consider renting a car so you don’t have to put miles on your own. Get something that will fit everyone easily but gets good gas mileage. If your gang is too big for one car, split into two and use walkie talkies to communicate along the road.
If your squad is the outdoorsy type, plan a trip that takes you on outdoor adventures. Whether it’s hiking, rock climbing or water sports, plan adventurous activities you’ll all love. National parks offer a lot of great trails and outdoor fun, along with natural beauty. Even consider staying outdoors on your trip. If camping is a little too close to nature, many national parks and other wildlife preserves offer glamping options nearby.
Sometimes a vacation that involves a big event that you’re all participating in together is a good way to go. Encourage everyone to sign up for a run or a bike race. This way, you can all train together and encourage each other prior to the event. Nothing will bond you like accomplishing a huge event together!
Whether your gang is outdoorsy or prefers a luxury spa, there’s a vacation for you and it’s time to get planning!
