Having happy employees is one of the most important things that you should make happen as a business owner.

Your employees are very important to your company and them being happy means they are more motivated to work hard. The knock-on effect of this is that your revenue will increase which in turn will increase your profits. It also means you won’t have a high turnover as staff leaving can look bad on your company. 

Making your staff happy starts with the office supplies you have. Office supplies are important as they show you value your staff members, show you care about them and that you are willing to invest in them. From having commercial coffee machines, healthy snacks and a water station to ergonomic chairs and allowing pets, below we look into four must-have office supplies to make your employees happy. 

1) A coffee machine

You can’t run a successful business without having a good coffee machine that your staff members can use. It sounds silly, but your employees will really appreciate a good coffee machine that produces nice-tasting coffee. A lot of the machines will make different types of drinks, such as a cappuccino, latte or Espresso and it will give your staff members a caffeine hit that we are sure they will need every now and then. 

2) Healthy snacks 

Our health is the most important thing to us – the healthier we are and the better we look after our bodies, the longer we will hopefully live. To help look after your staff’s health, regularly treat them to healthy snacks that they can enjoy throughout the day. Purchase a fruit bowl, healthy cereal options and nuts. Ask your staff what snacks they will enjoy and treat them to them. 

3) Allow pets in the office 

A more recent trend is that employees are allowing their staff members to bring their pets to work. A lot of companies will let a certain number of dogs in the office, which staff members are benefiting from. Dogs are great for improving morale as well as helping your employee’s mental health. The challenge with letting pets in the office is not having too many at the same time. 

4) Invest in ergonomic chairs 

The chair you use at work is so important and can impact your overall health – Bad chairs can damage your posture which can lead to back pain issues. To support your employees, invest in Ergonomic chairs as these are fully supportive of your posture. They are more affordable than you may think and will reduce the need for your staff members to take time off due to damaged muscles. Along with these, you could also invest in adjustable desks where they increase and decrease in size so that they can be standing.
