How not to dress like a mum: summer basics part 2
In the second of our summer basics style series, we look at how you can put together three on-trend looks with a classic wardrobe staple – jeans.
Often as mums we don’t have hours to agonise over what to wear the next day, or for the evening. Which makes it even more important to have a streamlined wardrobe that enables us to put together the right look quickly, around a few core items of clothing.
And to help you do this, stylist Karen Skagerlind has picked out her five summer basics for 2014, and gives you a couple of ideas for how you can easily put together some simple but fashionable outfits with them.
Our 2014 summer basics – part two
Last week, we introduced our five summer basics – key pieces that you can build a stylish wardrobe around:
- A Breton top
- A white shirt
- A pair of white Jeans
- A coloured, tailored jacket
- A pair of boyfriend jeans
This week we take two pieces from the list – white jeans and boyfriend jeans.
How to wear white jeans two ways
To dress a pair of simple white jeans up for the evening, keep your look monotone and wear them with a silk blend t-shirt, an embroidered jacket and on-trend fringe heels.
For a quick and easy day look, team a Breton top with a white ankle-skimming jean, a coloured, tailored jacket, interest flat and a classic shoulder bag that can be worn as a cross body bag.
How to wear boyfriend jeans
Dashing out for the school run? Throw on a pair of boyfriend jeans, add a floral t-shirt, a coloured, tailored jacket and metallic flat pump for a breezy but stylish look.
