Mimi Bogelund is Managing Director of French fashion and lifestyle brand Captain Tortue.
Captain Tortue sells women’s and children’s clothing, exclusively through its own independent consultants, who sell directly to customers at home or via informal events. Mimi has seen a phenomenal growth since she launched the UK Division in 2005 from her home in Storrington. 10 years on and the UK & Ireland Division employs seven staff, retains 350 consultants and has a turnover approaching 4 million.
An expert in direct selling, Mimi was in at the start of both The Body Shop at Home and Virgin Vie Cosmetics Company and is a director of The Direct Selling Association.
Danish-born Mimi says “I love having the opportunity to help women develop their skills and use their talents, in a way that doesn’t compromise on family life. The best reward for me is when women that started with little or no experience, surprise themselves and really flourish in the business.”
