Six make-up steps to give you a fabulous glow in minutes

Ever had those mornings when one quick glance in the mirror tells you that you’ll need at least three hours in a professional make-up chair before you’re ready to face the world? The only problem is that you have kids to dress, school lunches to make and only 36 minutes before you need to leave the house. Oh and no professional make-up artist on hand to work their magic.

If this scenario feels familiar, don’t despair. Our Wardrobe Wand stylist Karen Skagerlind shares her six make-up steps to get a fabulous glow in minutes. So you’ll arrive at the school gates or morning meeting looking well-rested, fresh-faced and ready to face the day.

Step 1

Use a face serum  like Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex – one of Instyle magazine’s Best Beauty Buys 2013.

Step 2

Apply a tinted BB cream with SPF 30 to give instant radiance.

Step 3

Look awake by using an eyelash curler– this limited edition Shu Uemura one will look great in your make-up bag too.

Step 4

A coat of mascara – the Maybelline One by One Mascara is good for no clumps.

Step 5

Use a cream blusher – Benefit fine-one-one has a highlighter too – use your ring finger to blend.

Step 6

Finish off with a slick of your favourite shade of lipstick – this M.A.C lipstick was the winner of the Debenhams Beauty Club awards 2013.
