Emma Borthwick is a radio presenter, journalist and blogger.
Emma produces and presents a daily current affairs programme on BBC Radio Cumbria. She has been a journalist at the BBC for eight years and loves the variety in her job.
Emma believes in telling the stories of ordinary people and holding those who are in a position of authority to account. She asks difficult questions and expects answers; reporting on local, national and international news.
For a short time Emma also worked in commercial radio, and when she was just starting out she worked in South Africa on a broadsheet newspaper called The Cape Argus.
Emma is married with two children and lives in the countryside just outside Carlisle. A year after having her first child she completed an Ironman 70.3. Triathlon is the sport of choice – but only when she’s feeling ‘in the zone’.
