What to wear to the office – Shades of grey

Struggling to nail your workwear wardrobe? Need to be smart, but still want to look stylish and feel comfortable? Turn to our three shades of grey!

We recently shared our take on what NOT to wear to the office. Now, Karen Skagerlind reveals what you CAN wear to work, starting with her pick of flattering grey dresses.

Shades of grey

The little black dress is a perennial staple in most working wardrobes. However, just for a change (and a modern update), why not give grey a try? To help guide you in the right direction, I’ve chosen three of my favourites.

  1. This dove grey dress from Winser London has a high neckline and soft, ruching detail. It’s called the ‘Miracle’ dress because it flatters all figures.
  2. The Bruuns Bazaar steel grey, structured dress also has a great shape and is ideal as a work to evening item.
  3. You can expect to find great classic workwear from Hobbs, and this tailored, wool mid-grey dress is no exception.

Whichever dress takes your fancy, mix with print heels like these from Banana republic, LK Bennett or DKNY metallics, or snakeskin print from Kurt Geiger to keep on trend. Accessorise with link jewellery from Zara or a statement cuff and a great watch.

To inject some colour, add a multi-print scarf, like this one from Ted Baker. Or go bold with an LK Bennett mandarin-coloured coat, which works great with this grey, or fuscia Mulberry Bayswater bag.
